Pioneer Day
Here in Utah, we have Pioneer Day and this year, my family and I decided to celebrate. We started our morning with a 5k followed by a huge church breakfast. The best part was that Mitch was able to spend the entire day with us. He's been so busy with school and work and his calling in our church that it was so awesome to just have him to ourselves.
I made a very audible "awww" when I saw the 5k t-shirt in size 3t. Unfortunately, they didn't have any 9-12 month size tees or our whole family would've matched and I might have just died. I dunno, I guess I find something insanely cute about little bitties matching us big adults. Am I the only one?

Hiking
Can you believe that sky?
Seriously, love.
Stacking rocks.
You can tell it was a hardcore hike by my shoe choice.
Throwing rocks over the cliff.
The past week or so has been lousy weather, but a couple really great days snuck in there beforehand. On days like that, my family loves to go hiking. I hear about how Mitch grew up outdoors and I want that same experience for my children. O is such a curious little soul that I'm always amazed at what he notices while we're walking. The fact that it allows him to release some energy isn't bad either. And L is such a trooper. He is so content no matter how long the hike we take. He's seriously the most chill baby you can imagine.

California
Watching for Daddy driving the tractor.
A little of what Mitch's week looked like. He's studying to take the GMAT, that smart guy.
Tickle monster!
O and daddy posing at the zoo.
Made my lifetime.
O with his great-grandma and great-aunt.
Seems as if all of my posts are like a biography for my firstborn, but don't worry- I promise that I will have more pictures of L in my next family post.
I was a little swept up in our vacation when we first got there so most of these pictures were taken on the same day (hence O wearing his "Super Brother" shirt in almost every single one) but it really sums up our whole trip. The weather was absolutely amazing so we were outside almost constantly, walking down the lane to see the horses or helping grandpa feed the "sheepers" in the back. O had his first experience at the zoo and boy was he in heaven. My mother-in-law took (dragged) me on a bike ride and even babysat so Mitch and I could go on a little date. It was a very laid back and relaxing trip and we really were able to enjoy each other's company.

Sacramento Zoo
This kid is seriously so enthralled with monkeys. He stood in the same spot watching them for a good 20 minutes.
Waiting for the animals to do something interesting. It proved futile for some of them. But seriously, cutest little face ever or what?
One picture of L, overkill of O. He was so cooperative the whole time, though. He just hung out in the stroller and didn't even complain until he was ready to eat.
Sleeping jaguars. More futile waiting.
He wanted to get closer. We said no.
Some parts of the playground were more fun than others. Cement slide= no fun.
Mo the turtle. O and his grandma have a song they sing together about a turtle named Tiny Tim. I think it came as a shock to him when he learned what a real turtle was.
This was O's first zoo experience and he had a blast! Thank you, Grandma Cook, for taking us.
